Posted: 22 Mar 2012 02:27 PM PDT

Poonam Pandey in Red DressInternet Celebrity and model Poonam Pandey has openly come out in the  rescue and support of Air India Crew who have not been paid salaries past 5 months and have decided to go on strike, starting from April 2.

‎The Interget Girl tweeted , ” #WasOnFlight #AirIndia And while leaving that Crew told me shedding tears, that mam can u get this Problem of us in Notice #NotPaidSince5Months”.

One of the crew members told her that  because of non payment since past 5 months he had to Stop his Sons Tuition Classes.

She  further tweeted, “My Heart Bleeds for Air India Crew, who are not being Paid for past 5 Months… i wonder how are they sustaning themselves”.

Meanwhile, three rounds of talks  of Air India Employee Unions with the  management failed today.  As many as seven unions out of the 13 today had three rounds of meetings with the management here, but management could not give us a written commitment for full payment of our salaries and performance-linked incentives, which have not been paid for the past five months,” union sources said.

However, Air India management sources say,  ”All the major Air India unions, including those of the pilots, met the management this evening here and we have assured them to clear salaries and performance-linked incentives of one month next early month; and clear all arrears by May when the government will infuse money”

It is not clear, whether the efforts of Poonam Pandey  ould force Management to pay the due salaries  and prevent the strike, but surely she did something good for the employees welfare. Come on Poonam and strip this time for Air India employees, if they are paid all their arrears and Salaries.

On Thursday, a  meeting of the F-Cubed Representatives  with CM  Nitish Kumar was arranged. The meeting was also  attended by other notable people like  CEO, Bihar Foundation, Principal Secretary,  Department of Industries, Principal Secretary Water Resources and  Chairman, Confederation of Indian  Industries, Bihar Chapter.

The business is now dealing with offices in over 20 countries.

iPhone 5 to be launched around August

Posted: 22 Mar 2012 12:19 PM PDT

iphoneApple Inc’s new iPhone will have a sharper and bigger 4.6-inch “retina” display and is set to be launched around the second quarter, a South Korean media reported on Thursday.

Sales of the iPhone, first introduced in 2007 with the touch screen template now adopted by its rivals, account for around half Apple’s total sales.

Apple has decided on the bigger 4.6-inch display for its next iPhone and started placing orders to its suppliers, the Maeil Business Newspaper said, quoting an unnamed industry source.

Its major display suppliers LG Display and Samsung Electronics Co declined to comment.

Samsung, which is also the biggest challenger to Apple in smartphones, uses 4.6-inch OLED display for its flagship Galaxy S II smartphone, introduced in April last year.

The high-definition “retina” display – containing several times as many pixels within the same area – is used in the latest iPad released earlier this month.

The latest iPhone 4S was introduced in October last year.

Meet Pakistani Minister who owns a Town

Posted: 22 Mar 2012 04:43 AM PDT

Pakistan may be  poor compared to India but Paki Ministers are much more rich compared to their Indian counterparts. ome Pakistani Minister are so rich that they own land equivalent to the area of a town.Atleast no Indian Minister can dare to master such a huge property

A provincial minister in Pakistan owns a tract of land that equals a small town – 24,338 acres to be precise. Another wears diamond-studded Rolex watches while a lawmaker runs seven mines and owns 300 guns.

Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Muhammad Aslam Khan Raisani drives a luxury sport utility vehicle Hummer H2 that was gifted to him and a Harley Davidson motorcycle brought to Pakistan after a waiver on customs duty, showed statement of assets and liabilities submitted to the Election Commission for 2010-11.

Besides owning a safety and security firm, he also has a mining company with a capital investment of Rs.106.5 million, the Dawn newspaper reported.

But, he is easily overshadowed by his Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs, Mir Zafar Ullah Khan.

Khan owns a staggering 24,338 acres of land, most of which he has inherited. He has Rs.51 million in two bank accounts.

Building Minister Agha Irfan Karim owns four properties, including a farm house, 150 acres of agricultural land and a house in Quetta.

Karim also two diamond-studded Rolex wrist watches, two more with gold and silver, 10 diamond-studded cufflinks and 200 tola of gold.

Pir Abdul Qadir Algilani, a lawmaker, too has a generous land holding.

He owns 3,200 acres of land and an under-construction farm spread over 400 acres.

That’s not all.

Algilani’s other properties include two coal mines, three manganese mines, one copper mine and one iron ore mine in his own and his wife’s name.

He also has 300 guns, the Dawn report said.

Anna writes to PM to end Dr. Agarwal’s Fast

Posted: 22 Mar 2012 04:31 AM PDT

Anna Hazare Thursday wrote to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and urged him to immediately call a meeting of the National Ganga River Basin Authority (NGRBA) in the wake of the deteriorating condition of 80-year-old noted environmentalist G.D. Agarwal, who is on a fast-unto-death since Jan 15 to save the Ganga river.

Agarwal has been admitted to AIIMS and put on drip as he is refusing food.

“It’s my request to accept the agenda suggested by G.D. Agarwal and to immediately call the Ganga River Basin Authority meeting,” Hazare wrote in his letter.

“Before a final decision is taken in the meeting, the construction of dams and tunnels should be stopped,” he said in his letter in Hindi.

He also said Agarwal, a former IIT professor, has been raising “a very important issue”.

“I think if Ganga is not saved then the country’s most irrigated part would be destroyed and crores of people will feel hurt,” he said.

“For a democratically elected government it is not right to hurt the feeling of the people. I am confident that you would discharge your duty and take the right steps,” he added.

In his two-page letter, Hazare, who has been highlighting the need for a strong law in the country to tackle corruption in high places, said Ganga river is revered by millions and today it is being “polluted.”

The prime minister had set up the NGRBA in 2009, which is a central government constituted body for cleaning the Ganga.

Hazare said in the past one-and-a-half years no meeting has taken place and since the body was constituted three years ago only two meetings have taken place.

The 74-year-old activist also mentioned in his letter that four members of the NGRBA have resigned.

While Rajendra Singh resigned as the chairman NGRBA last week over “government’s insensitivity towards Agarwal and gross negligence towards worsening state of the holy river”, two other members of the NGRBA have also resigned over the issue.

Agarwal has served as secretary of the Central Pollution Control Board, the country’s premier anti-pollution body, and helped put together environmental legislation in India. This is his third fast-unto-death in last four years.

His major concern includes unsatisfactory and ineffective functioning of the National Ganga River Basin Authority.

Besides, Agarwal is against ongoing construction of dams/barrages/tunnels on Ganga which would totally destroy the natural flow regimes and quality of the river water, total failure of regulatory agencies in controlling discharge of urban and industrial wastes into the Ganga and complete lack of sensitivity of the government on these issues.

“Government’s attitude forced the noted scientist and environmentalist to sit on fast. He has been on fast since January. But unfortunately the government was not even focusing on this (issue). This has hurt Agarwal who has decided to end his life,” Hazare added.

The prime minister has called a meeting of NGRBA in April.

Rail Fare hike rolled back

Posted: 22 Mar 2012 02:57 AM PDT

Railway Fare hike for passengers has been today rolled back with the new Railway Minister Mukul Roy dubbing it as a “huge drain” on the pocket of masses.

He, however, kept untouched the increase of 15 paise per km and 30 paise per km respectively in passenger fares in AC 2-tier and AC-I announced by his predecessor Dinesh Trivedi in the Railway Budget only last week. Replying to the debate on the Railway Budget in the Lok Sabha, Roy also put on hold Trivedi’s proposal of setting up a committee to examine whether there should be an independent tariff regulatory authority. He scrapped Trivedi’s proposal to expand the Railway Board. Roy, who was replying to the debate just a day after taking over as Railway Minister, said, “The proposal to increase fare by 2 paise per km, 3 paise per km and 5 paise per km in second class suburban and non-suburban and Sleeper class is a huge drain on the pocket of the masses.” “Similarly, increase in the fare of AC Chair Car and AC 3-tier, which is now patronised by the middle class, is also quite severe. “I intend to give relief to the already over burdened common man by not effecting any increase in these classes.” Trivedi had proposed 10 paise per km each for AC Chair Car and AC 3-tier. Roy, however, did not refer to AC 2-tier and AC-I Class for which his predecessor had proposed hike of 15 paise per km and 30 paise per km
