Computers Worldwide may Shutdown on July 9 Posted: 05 Jul 2012 06:30 PM PDT Internet users across the world have been warned by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) that if they have the “Alureon/DNS Changer bot” virus on their computers, they will lose their internet connections July 9. The virus “spoofs” popular websites in an attempt to steal personal information, the Daily Mail reported. The software found its way into thousands of computers worldwide last year. It redirect users away from trusted websites, towards spoof websites in a bid to steal financial and personal information. When the attack was noticed, the FBI routed infected machines through its server to stop the attacks. But the servers will be taken down July 9. When this happens, computers still infected are likely to lose their internet connection without warning. Warnings about the problem have been splashed across Facebook and Google, and the FBI has set up a special website. The number of computers infected is more than 277,000 worldwide. The number was 360,000 in April. Of those still infected, the FBI believes that about 64,000 are in the US. Users still infected will have to call their service providers for deleting the malware and reconnecting to the internet. Last year, when international hackers ran an online advertising scam to take control of more than 570,000 infected computers around the world, the FBI agents realised that if they turned off the malicious servers being used to control the computers, all the victims would lose their internet service. The FBI then installed two clean internet servers to take over instead of the malicious servers so that people would not suddenly lose internet. But that temporary system will be shut down July 9. |

Salman Khan giving Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise a Chance Posted: 05 Jul 2012 02:30 PM PDT Here is the reason Why Salman Khan has not acted in any Hollywood Movie. He says that he wants to give Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise and all those guys a chance. Salman was voted the seventh-best-looking man in the world and the best looking man in India by US’s People magazine in 2004 — but Salman Khan has maintained his distance from Hollywood, and says he has his reasons. The Bollywood star unleashed his funny side when asked about the reason at an event organised by Indo-American Chamber Of Commerce (IACC) Wednesday. “All my friends who have gone to America, they don’t even want to come back for a holiday, wonder why. I am an actor, those guys were the ‘sensible’ ones, educated – engineers, doctors, scientists. These guys went there and made a lot of money, respect,” he said. “Me, I am giving Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, all these guys a chance. Otherwise…poor guys,” the 46-year-old said here in a humourous way. Salman also targeted Hollywood films. “Amazing movies, they make anything look good. Like for example the names I took, Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise. We just go on emotions and heart. We overdo anything, I mean guys like us also look really bad,” said Salman. He wrapped up the response with his arch-rival, superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s famous dialogue from “My Name Is Khan”: “I mean my name is actually Khan and I actually am not a terrorist.” Besides Salman, actress Nargis Fakhri was also present at the event, where Tata Consultancy Services was formally honoured as the overall best Indian Company operating in the US at the 8th Indo American Corporate Excellence Awards. |

Abu Jindal being grilled 20 Hours everyday by Agencies Posted: 05 Jul 2012 12:30 PM PDT While he was training 12 terrorists in Muridke in Pakistan for the 26/11 terror attack, Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jindal, the arrested Indian handler of the carnage, was getting continuous information about Mumbai from David Coleman Headley who was on a recce of the metropolis as a Lashkar-e-Taiba spy. Revealing this to investigators, Jindal has said that 12 terrorists and not 10 had been selected to attack Mumbai. Pakistani-American Headley was passing on “day-to-day” information about Mumbai to LeT chief Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, who in turn provided it to Jindal, who was training the terrorists at Muridke from 2007 till just before the attack on Nov 26, 2008, investigators said. Headley has told a US court that he had done a recce of proposed targets ahead of the Nov 26, 2008 attacks by 10 Pakistani terrorists that left 166 people dead and 238 people injured in the worst terror attack on India. Jindal, who is referred to as Sayyed Zakiuddin alias Abu Jindal (and not Jundal) in the first information report filed by Delhi Police in a Delhi court, has been undergoing rigorous interrogation by more than six probe agencies, including the National Investigation Agency, the Maharashtra Anti-terrorist Squad, Intelligence Bureau and a Special Team of Delhi Police. Jindal is being grilled for “around 20 hours in a day”, an investigative officer told IANS. He was arrested at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here June 21 after his deportation from Saudi Arabia and sent to police custody till July 5. Elaborating on Headley’s role, Jindal told investigators that he conspired with LeT and Pakistani military officers to launch the Mumbai attacks and other terrorist activities. “Jindal had met Headley for a short period when he was in Pakistan’s Muridke training camp in 2007,” the source in the investigating team told IANS, not wishing to be identified. Jindal said between 2006 to 2008 Headley undertook “five spying missions in Mumbai” scouting targets for the 2008 attack on behalf of LeT and Pakistani ex-military officers. “Between 2002 and 2005, Headley made several trips to Pakistan for terror training while simultaneously working as an informant for the US Drug Enforcement Administration,” said the sources. Headley was arrested in October 2009 at O’Hare International Airport on his way to Pakistan. Headley was assigned by the LeT to work with a militant chief named Sajid Mir, also known as Sajid Majid, who allegedly became a lead plotter of the Mumbai attacks, Jindal has revealed. “Jindal has not confirmed if Mir had any ties with the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI),” the officer told IANS. After Mir, Headley in January 2006 was put under the charge of an ISI officer named Major Samir Ali, who in turn referred him to a Major Iqbal, who became his main handler in Lahore during his recce mission in Mumbai. Iqbal then introduced Headley to a man identified as Lieutenant Colonel Shah, who promised Headley financial support for terrorist operations against India. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) joined the interrogation of Jindal Wednesday. |

Is Bollywood Actress Laila Khan Dead or Alive ? Posted: 05 Jul 2012 11:20 AM PDT Pakistani-origin Bollywood starlet Laila Khan, who had been missing since the last 11 months, was murdered along with her family members in Maharashtra last year, the main accused in her kidnapping, her stepfather and suspected militant Parvez Iqbal Tak told the Jammu and Kashmir Police. She and four of her family members were killed but her father Nadir Shah Patel challenged the contention in Mumbai. Tak, a suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba extremist nabbed in Jammu and Kashmir June 21, made the revelation in police custody that Laila Khan – missing since February 2011 – had been killed along with four other members of her family and their bodies had been disposed of somewhere near Mumbai. Laila’s father Patel questioned Tak’s contention and accused him of attempting to defraud him in a realty matter in Mumbai. Speaking to a private news channel in Mumbai, Patel said he did not “believe” Tak’s claim that Laila, her mother Saleena Begum, siblings Zara, Imran, cousin Reshma and a domestic help were killed and their bodies disposed of somewhere around Mumbai in February 2011. Giving vital leads in a case that has long confounded investigators, Tak told the Jammu and Kashmir Police that five-six people were involved in the killing of Laila and her family. They were shot dead and buried in an isolated place near Mumbai, Tak is believed to have told interrogators in Jammu and Kashmir. “Initially after his arrest, Tak was trying to mislead police. But later, when the Mumbai police too joined the investigations, Tak told us that five to six characters were involved in wiping out Laila Khan and four members of her family,” Jammu and Kashmir’s Deputy Inspector General of Police Gareeb Das told IANS in Jammu. Tak married Laila’s mother Saleema Begum after she divorced Patel. Even as Mumbai police is expected to take Tak’s custody from Kishtwar, a separate kidnapping case was lodged against the accused in Mumbai’s Oshiwara Police Station two days ago. Das added that Tak, who said that sharpshooters had been hired to kill Laila and her family, was cooperating with interrogators and gradually revealing information on the case. He said Tak claimed that he did not know the name of the place where the victims were taken but he could identify the spot. The five were taken to the area on the pretext of flying to Dubai as they faced a threat to their lives due to the large property they owned, Tak is believed to have told Jammu and Kashmir Police. The killers gunned them down and buried the bodies before escaping, Tak said. According to Das, the crime would have remained a mystery had they not seized Laila’s Maharashtra-registered vehicle that Tak brought to Kishtwar. It was found outside his rented shop in the town May 28. Das said the story would unfold once the Maharashtra Police take Tak to Mumbai and the crime spot. “All would depend on whether police recover the bodies of the victims,” Das said. Questioning Tak’s claims, Patel said that if Tak’s claim was true, then the Mumbai police should register a first information report and investigate the matter. However, the Mumbai police have denied any knowledge on the alleged murders, though a team of the city police was likely to leave for Jammu soon. Last month, a team had gone to Jammu for probing the matter which had strong Mumbai and Maharashtra connections. Patel said that Tak and his partner Asif Sheikh used to come regularly to their Santacruz home. “I always used to caution my family members to beware of them, I found their behaviour suspicious, but they did not heed to me,” Patel said. He admitted that the Tak-Sheikh duo was planning to dupe him in some property matters as Tak was found with a fake PAN card bearing his name (Patel’s) name. Referring to a mysterious fire a few months ago which partly damaged their bungalow in Igatpuri, a hill-station in Maharashtra’s Nashik district, around 130 km from Mumbai, Patel contended that there could a link between Laila and her family’s disappearance and the fire, but declined to elaborate. Laila, whose original name is Reshma Patel, was last seen in a 2008 movie Wafaa with Rajesh Khanna. According to sources, the Mumbai police had found Laila to have questionable links which allegedly led to her disappearance from Mumbai in February 2011. After tracking her mobile phone, her last call records showed her to be at her farm house in Igatpuri, a hill-station in Maharashtra’s Nashik district, around 130 km from Mumbai. |
