He further said that there was a shortage of officials in the police department and recruitments would take place over the next five years.

Kumar also rejected the opposition’s demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the alleged Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) land scam, stating that there was no need for any kind of enquiry into the case.

Earlier, the state government had rejected the allegations of irregularities in land allotment by BIADA and said that the government was being intentionally dragged into a controversy.

Media reports claim that prime lands of BIADA were allotted to relatives of ministers and senior government officials.

Instead of promoting industrialists from the state and outside, there was promotion of the interest of the sons and daughters of senior ministers, legislators and bureaucrats, who were allotted prime plots of BIADA without advertisement or tender.
