Bihar Bureaucrats to plant a tree each for mission Green Bihar Posted: 12 Sep 2011 03:12 AM PDT Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has asked bureaucrats to plant a tree sapling each at their house with an aim to increase the state’s forest cover.It is expected that if 400000 officials of Bihar Government plant a tree each, the state’s Green Cover will rise to 15 percent in next 5 years. This move is second after the ruling Janta Dal United(JDU) asked it members to plant a tree each. The party has decided to plant five million saplings over the next two-three years. Last month, the chief minister kick-started the green drive from his native village, Kalyanbigha, in Nalanda district. He made planting of a sapling mandatory for JD-U members for their membership to be renewed.
